Hi all,
> I'm going to introduce myself as well then =)
I teach C++ at the University of Belgrade as a part of 'Software
development' course,
but also as one of two languages in the 'Functional Programming'
course (don't tell anyone ;) ).
I'm the guy that shocked Kate at Meeting C++ a bit when I proposed to
ban for/while loops when
teaching C++ :)
C++ is also used in a range of other courses at our Uni, but I'm not
involved with those, so I
can't really give much information on them at the moment.
Apart from teaching, I've written the "Functional Programming in C++"
book (Manning Pub.),
recently defended my PhD that has the terms "continuation monad" and
"C++" in its title, and
I've been a core developer of the KDE project (the largest C++
free/libre open source) for a
decade now.
I'm here for the following reasons:
- Love the idea of a C++ academic community
- Love the idea of having an academic conference dedicated to C++
(I volunteer for the program committee or to be a deputy chair, though
I'm overly young as a
researcher for the later)
- Would love the conference proceedings to grow into a proper
SCI-indexed journal at some point :)
Cheers,
Ivan
